Andean village Chinchero to Sacred Valley

1 Day 16 km 2900 msnm – 3750 msnm easy Cusco – Chinchero Pisac – Cusco

This trip will lead us down from archeological site of Chinchero to Pisac by a beautiful and untouristed trail. It combines hiking and transport. This is great opportunity to visit Sacred Valley in a different way.

We will pick you up from your hotel at 7.30 am. From Cusco we travel by public transport to the pleasant mountain town of Chinchero. According to Incas this is the place where the rainbow was born. In the town we will see charming Inca ruins, mainly consisting of terracing. On Sunday and to less extent on Tuesday and Thursday we will be able to enjoy a colourful market and colonial church.

From Chinchero we start our hike. We descend partially following the old Inca trail through a spectacular valley with views of the snow capped peaks that were worshipped by the Incas. We will have lunch in a picturesque spot in Sacred Valley in Urquillos. After lunch we take transport to Pisac. We spend the afternoon visiting Pisac archeological site. Afterwards we hike down to the village of Pisac. We will be able to enjoy magnificent views of the mountains and the Inca constructions. We return by public bus to Cusco.

Total hiking time is approximately 7-8 hours.
